Audiobook playback speed

Adjust speed independently for long-form listening.

Introduction

Speed through nonfiction or slow down dense material — 0.5× to 2× with natural pitch.

Steps

  1. Play an audiobook or podcast.
  2. Tap the speed badge on Now Playing → choose 1.25×, 1.5×, etc.
  3. Or open Settings → Audio Controls for presets and a fine slider.
  4. Tap Reset or 1× Normal when you're done.

Tips

  • 1.25×–1.5× is the sweet spot for most listeners.
  • Speed is free — not part of Stow Pro.
